Basic Open Water

Requirements:

To enroll in a Basic Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

The complete Basic Open Water Diver Certification consists of three main phases:

 

  1. Academics: eLearning and Knowledge Review: Basic Principles

  2. Confined Water Dives (Pool): Skill Development

  3. Open Water Checkout Dives: Skill Use and Exploration

Once the academic and confined water (pool) phases of the training are complete, you will be able to select from a number of options to complete your open water phase, including:

One of the things that make Kent Island Scuba unique, are the many checkout dive options available to students. With locations on in Maryland and Florida, the hardest part of getting vertified might just be deciding where to finish!!!

  • Academics (eLearning or Face-to-Face)

  • Academic Review (Face-to-Face or Virtual)

  • Confined Water Dives

  • Rental Dive Gear (BCD, Regulator, Air, Weights, etc...)

  • Open Water Referral

What's not included:

  • Personal Dive Gear (Mask, Fins, Wetsuit, etc...)

  • Boat Fees, Quarry Fees, etc... (if Necessary)
